Dewsall Court ~ Herefordshire

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ 

Blanketed in ivies and creepers and nestled in 1,000 acres of idyllic Herefordshire countryside, Dewsall is alluringly beautiful; our room is a recently converted barn that sits on the edge of a rolling paddock with its very own lake…

Castell Deudraeth ~ Wales

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ 

A playground of pastel turrets and quaint cottages gently interrupted by the most bizarre pagan imagery. Everywhere. It’s all so deliciously unexpected.

Witchery by the Castle ~ Scotland

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆

The levels of luxury and service, the fabulous food, the decadence of the décor and its fascinating history make this a very special place. We hate to leave, but one thing’s for sure – we can’t wait to come back.

Aviator ~ Hampshire

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ 

“Now this is what I call going up in the world!” Monsieur 2 jokes as we step into possibly the most stylish lift we’ve ever seen. Lined with alligator-effect leather and polished walnut, clouds passing by through a porthole ‘window’, the feeling is of being in a vintage private jet. We love it!

Standing ready to greet us at the double doors of Cliff Barns is George, whose birthday we’re here to celebrate, wearing a stetson. “Welcome to Cliff Barns y’all!” he beckons in his best Texan drawl. “C’mon in and join the par-dee!”

The Westleton Crown ~ Suffolk

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆

The Westleton Crown really is a wonderful gem of a retreat – a great winter getaway and a serene (and secluded) summer destination. Well, if it was good enough for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it’s definitely good enough for us!

The Punch Bowl ~ Lake District

Our rating: ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ 

A sign by the door of The Punch Bowl advises that it is also the village post office – very Larkrise to Candleford; we’re beginning to feel like Pearl and Ruby Pratt – we can tell we’re going to like it here!
