Corton Denham, Somerset DT9 4LR
Strictly speaking the Queen’s Arms is on the Somerset/Dorset border, but it’s close to Sherborne (where we stayed) and has been awarded an AA Rosette for its great country pub grub (particularly the pork pies). We also love the log fires and bloody Marys. You can take your dog there, too.
